Adventures in Ao Nang

Hello everyone!

Since the last time I wrote, I stayed at Koh Lanta for two more days, and after that, I traveled north to Ao Nang, in the Krabi area. I am no longer on an island!

Koh Lanta was a very nice, but quiet place. It is low season, but I think it is one of the less popular and less touristy spots. There were some nice (almost) white sand beaches, and the water was a bit wavy, but it was pretty good swimming.

My first two days in Ao Nang can be better described by watching this video. Still unsure of my long term goal with videos, but we will see!

Getting around the Ao Nang area

Today is my fourth day in Ao Nang, and yesterday I did a fantastic 7 island tour. The "7 islands" was more of a marketing scheme, but in other words we stopped at almost 7 spots. I got a chance to see some very nice beaches and caves, and even went snorkeling for the first time! At the end of the tour, we ate dinner, saw the sunset, and even got to see some luminescent plankton in the water, and watch a fire show!

I also got a chance to have some very interesting conversations. I met some Iranian people and we had a very interesting conversation about the state of affairs in the Middle East. Their perspectives were different from what I had heard before, to say the least.

I also spoke with an Indian guy, and we had a nice chat about Indian politics. He thinks Modi has been a good leader for India because he has put India on the global map and it has been good for business. Personally, I think that with a billion people, India can be a global force if they can develop their country.

The island hopping was a lot of fun, and I have enjoyed my conversations with people around the world!
